This is another monument on a busy avenue in Merida. A fierce-looking Mayan man is depicted standing at the ready with a spear. He wields the most effective weapons of his time for defending himself and his family who (wife and mancub) are also depicted as part of the statue. A Spanish Conquistador's helmet lies on the ground next to them, perhaps a material prise for another day of fending off evil and danger.

My personalized, contemporary version.

Wow! You guys look like you are having SUCH a great experience. I love all of the pics...my favorite (close-up especially) is the road-killed varmint!! Would you dedicate that pic to me? He is SO cute and interesting. =]

Ah, sure. I hereby dedicate the "road-killed varmint" to my lovely mother, Melody. Actually, we've been holding back on the dead animal pics. Maybe we'll have some time to dedicate a post to you! We love you!

Btw, you can comment on each individual post. Each post has a comment button under it, so that your comments correspond to that post only. :D

Y'know, I hate to further the gay stereotype by fitting snuggly into it, but: phallus, anyone?

Something about the phrase "fitting snuggly into the gay [anything]" kinda sounds dirty David...
